Why this job is different from so many jobs: I had a slow go at the art show this weekend....no sales Saturday, Sunday is very sluggish....my spirit is taking a bit of a hit......then.....a woman walks into my booth, looks around and says " I love your work, and I want all of these, everything here, when can you get them to me ? Oh, and by the way.... The Bachelorette is going to be filming at my house in March and I would like them in place for that".....well......my day got better ! You just never know ! ... This is a brand new artwork for 2016. It is called Koi Pond and those who know me, know that I collect Koi and have fun with my Koi Pond. I wanted this artwork to convey the feeling I have when I am feeding my fish and feeling harmonious with nature. The photos here do not depict the Cor Ten metal as oxidized yet. The natural oxidation will occur ove time and I will update the album with more pictures in the future. ... See MoreSee Less

This Saturday (November 28) is the official Small Business Saturday of 2015...so all week we will feature small shops/galleries that carry our artwork as well as other unique exciting gifts that you can't find in large "box" stores.
Today I want to share Abacus Gallery in Maine. They actually have five different locations, Kennebunkport, Freeport, Portland, Booth Bay Harbor, and Ogonquit. They offer many fine artist creations. I have been fortunate enough to be working with them for a couple of years and look forward to many more to come.
Yelp review of one of thier stores:
"Spacious, well lit gallery with a great mix of home goods and pieces created by local Maine artists. I thought it was a small shop, but was pleasantly surprised when I walked to the back wall to find there was more goodness around the corner!
There were lots of fun pieces to look at and I could be entertained here for a good hour. I do believe they have multiple locations, so if you can't make it to Kennebunkport, check out their other branch in downtown Portland. Awesome place to check out if you're looking to bring home a more upscale souvenir from your Maine adventure." ... See MoreSee Less

Today I want to share Grovewood Gallery in Asheville NC. I have been working with the amazing folks there since the beginning of my career and they are great team members !
this is a yelp review I found online that sums it up better than I could:
"Grovewood Gallery is the most amazing "find" among all the other galleries in the area! Not only is the gallery itself one of beauty--with gorgeous crafts!--but also, the whole history of Grovewood is very unique. The gallery is situated on about 11 acres (I think), and it was once a weaving mill where they made genuine homespun materials. (There is a small museum on its campus which gives the history). And what was really great is that there is also an Antique Car Museum in a separate building--a great place to send someone who doesn't feel like shopping! Also, there is a terrific restaurant on the property--the Grovewood Cafe--where we had a wonderful outdoor lunch---we were there in September. I was delighted with the whole experience while at Grovewood---and the staff is incredibly helpful---while not intrusive. I'm SO happy to have found it, and will definitely go back upon any return trips to Asheville!!" ... See MoreSee Less

Zeber-Martell Gallery in Akron OH is the first I want to share with you. These two artists display and sell their own beautiful artwork in addition to several other artist's wares. Their gallery space is a true artist collaberation. This is a Yelp review I found online that I think is a spot-on summation of Zeber Martell Gallery:
"A terrific gallery hidden in Akron's Northside District. Michael and Claudia have been throwing clay here for over 20 years, and in recent years have grown the space into a seriously great craft gallery with gifts for just about anyone. In addition to their own work, they show work by other artists and designers. Lovely people, too!" May 2014 ... See MoreSee Less

First of 3 NH stops today.....this is at Southern New Hampshire University campus. I was there today to assist with installing some artwork that will remain on campus through the end of 2016. Then I am off to the MillBrook Gallery in Concord to pick up some of my sculptures that were being displayed by the lovely Pam Tarbell. Lastly it is onto the Hays Estate on the Fells in Sunappee, where my 8' American Dog has been displayed for the summer (and was featured briefly on the "tank away" spotlight of November 4th's episode of Chronicle). Love that they have gifted the artwork to a wonderful location and the art will hopefully inspire and move many people for many years to come :
We purchased your sculpture "Set Free" several years ago for our garden. We decided to move this year and bought a house that was urban and had no yard. We gifted your beautiful statue to the Woodstock Reformed Church in Woodstock, NY. They have installed this sculpture on the lawn at the side entrance to the church. The church food pantry is reached through this entrance, as well as many self help groups. We thought it would be inspirational to have "Set Free" greeting so many people who are looking for solace. ... See MoreSee Less
