I am extremely happy with the overall allure of Pendulum. It is a timeless, classic piece which speaks to simper times; which is very fitting and appropriate because the driving force behind this particular design idea was triggered by economics and my quest to logistically make a sculpture that could fall within a specific price range. Pendulum came about at the end of 2009, when the economy was in the midst of collapse. I needed a piece that I could do economically; keeping my costs low, thus having an ideal price point for clients. I needed something with clean simple lines, thus ensuring that I could keep both laser fee costs and welding time down as low as possible. My pursuit for simplicity in design has created a sculpture that embodies exactly that.

While the first impression of Pendulum is a relaxing, simple sculpture, it does have internal complexities due to the moving pendulum action. It is a piece that looks amazing from a distance, and when viewed close really draws you in as you can interact and move the pendulum. There are also small bird cutouts on the insides of the ladder that give a good example of the craftsmanship of the piece. The four Stainless Steel rods that hold the Pendulum are a high quality accent that help to set the whole piece.
