In the spring of 2017, I was honored to be contacted by Windham High School to create a large scale metal sculpture for their campus. My studio has a rich history of working with public schools, colleges and universities. After some general discussion, I met with the school principal and students of Windham H.S. the following fall.
The design was a collaborative effort between school faculty, students and me. We decided on a large jaguar sculpture with a W recessed into the silhouette of the cat. Once we finalized the design, I created a 3-D printed model of the sculpture to ensure it had the look and feel that we desired.
In the spring of 2018, we delivered the sculpture to Windham High School. We arrived at the school and were able to use a tractor to remove the sculpture from the trailer. The installation of the sculpture went smoothly, and it was complete in under an hour. Overall, the project was a great success. Working with the students and faculty of Windham high school on this monument was an inspirational experience and a great honor.
