The Road Not Taken, by Robert Frost, is a favorite poem of mine and the idea of making a sculpture to honor it was very intriguing to me. The design for 2 Roads took a long time to conceptualize. I knew I wanted to depict an individual with the two symbolic roads, but I wasn’t sure how to achieve it all in one piece.

I am pleased with the outcome and I hope that it conjures the same thought and inspiration for you as it does for me.

The inspiration for this sculpture is the opposite of Raven. Both pieces have excerpts from poems on them, but for different reasons. In this case, the poem was the driving force behind the sculpture. I knew I wanted a sculpture that depicted the poem.

In the case of Raven, I had decided I wanted to make a sculpture featuring a Raven and after that, the poem Nevermore, kept popping into my head and insisted on being a part of the already existing sculpture.

Thanks to the generosity of Jack Harris, this sculpture amongst others is featured at the sculpture garden on the campus of North Central Michigan College in Petoskey, MI.
