Back to Main Building The dogs for The Big Dog Show are made of Cor-Ten Steel. The steel arrives in flat sheets, laser cut following Dale’s design. Welding flat sheets together starts the first side of the dog, forming the shape of the dog. The dog bone cutout is framed internally, providing support for the entire sculpture. Working alone requires creativity! Milk crates allow the working table to be raised or lowered as needed. Pulley systems help lift heavy pieces into place. Welding from the bottom…. Welding all around. This one is almost done!
