Sharing this on behalf of Marian Brown, Executive Director & Founder of Arts Connect International (ACI)

This program recruits artist leaders who are committed to cultural inclusion and social equity on a global scale. In the year-long residency artists identify their social justice tool of choice (art form), location of inquiry (country), and aspect of inclusion (human rights issue), that they will spend the residency year researching, learning, and creating work around.

Selected artist leaders receive grant funding for his/her project, marketing support, and extensive training around ACI’s core curriculum framework: leadership and learning diagnostics, arts education, cultural sensitivity, artistic development, monitoring and evaluation and entrepreneurship.

I delivered this Firedance sculpture to the Esplenade in Yonkers NY just about 1 month ago. At the time, there was a couple of feet of snow on the ground and I stopped in the dark of night to deliver it. The park was basically closed and I left it with good faith that the committee responsible for the temporary sculpture installations (It will be there for about 1 year) would take care to secure it once the snow melted. They sent this picture today....it looks great in place ! It will continue to look even better in the bright sunlit days when the sun can stream through the colors in the glass. (3 photos) ... I was happy to be asked by a special family to build an American Dog for the Tampa Dog Park. This American Dog ( Named Nutmeg by the family) proudly stands in honor of their beloved daughter, Kathlene who was an avid dog-lover and is greatly missed by her friends and family. There will be a "tail-gate" party early next month to celebrate Kathleen and "unveil" the sculpture ( Though I am giving you a sneak-peek here!)

This is my last day of this #artchallenge going around on Facebook. Linda Post has nominated me to post 3 images of my work a day for 5 days.

In addition to the 3 pictures a day, I also need to nominate another artist to do the same. As Linda said, "this reminds me a bit of one of those chain letters", but who can argue with the idea of FB news feeds filling with art and more importantly, artists reaching out to each other and sharing our talents !

These 3 pictures are sent to me by clients and it seemed fitting to share them based on the impending snow we are about to recieve ! If any other clients have snow covered art you would like to share, please do so on my page....we'd love to see it !!

For today I nominate two artists who helped me to be who I am today....two amazing art teachers from my past: Sue Paradis and

Fused Glass started in 2014 (25 photos) ... See MoreSee Less

The Bulk of my art is either Silver ( Stainlesss Steel ) or Brown ( Co-Ten). In an effort to add color, we began to experiment with Fused Glass. In Decmeber of 2013, we emptied out an 11' Long x 7.5' Wide storage closet off of our small office and turned it into a fully functional (although small ) glass studio. The early winter months were spent learning about the glass and experimenting with simple designs. As winter turned to Spring and Summer, our designs evolved into tighter. more precise visions with a clear design intent. We are very excited to continue with the and see where the designs evolve to next.

It just makes you smile, laugh, and shake your head. But today, he sent us the last picture and says of it " I commissioned a statue done by Steve Cote to form a story with your Moai head. As you'll see, the concept is that a person comes upon the Moai and is surprised that the Moai looks like himself."
